Program Design
The CAT’s unique design will offer students a 21st century learning experience that is founded on the best research in student learning. It will be based on completely customized software that will generate an individualized learning plan for each student based on a pre-assessment of each student interest, learning style, and content knowledge. The content, process, and product of each learning path created will be automatically customized for a unique learning experience for each student.
Students will have the option of taking classes completely face-to-face, fully online or any combination. The main campus will be in Kingston, NY and instructions will be facilitated from this location but through a partnership with organizations such as the NYS Youthbuild, BOCES and other, satellite sites across NYS will host teacher(s), computers, and resources to support CAT students.
The hybrid instructions proposed would be based on the best research available in student learning and unlike any classes currently available. Its differs from what is currently used in 2 main ways
1. Prescriptive Learning Path; Integrated assessments that evaluate the students Learning Style, Interest Inventory, and Content Knowledge will prescribe a unique learning path for each student. The content, process, and product of each path will have unique element that will appeal to individual students and differentiate their experience.
2. Engagement Blended Content: The content will be developed in a way that is highly media centric, integrates 21st Century Skills, and appeals to 21st Century Learners. But, it will also correlate with textbooks and the media will be formatted so it can be viewed on mobile media players. This will provide users with a blended online and offline experience to facilitate a 360-degree learning.
